Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,

EXCEL IN WORK

A worker who does not need to be ashamed,
and

ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Master of Divinity

HGST offers a 4-year Modular-based Master of Divinity program. Each class is offered for three (3) weeks, five (5) days a week. The course is approximately forty (40) hours of classroom instruction plus relevant assignments. There are 12 classes offered yearly, each worth four (4) credit hours.

HGST faculty must have a doctoral degree, with current or past experience in cross-cultural and pastoral ministry.

Medium of Instruction

Since most Christian resources are in English, HGST's medium of instruction is English. However,  Nepali faculty and staff can assist the students in understanding the English concepts presented. There are also few classes offered in the Nepali language.

Core Values

This modular-based Master of Divinity program provides those in ministry with a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the Bible and other theological issues and doctrines. It also provides an opportunity to develop the students' exegetical skills in Hebrew and Greek texts of the Bible and their ability to communicate biblical truth to the modern world. In addition, this program uniquely seeks to build in each student the godly character and ministry skills needed for an effective ministry of teaching, preaching, and mentoring without pulling students from their current fields of ministry.

This Master of Divinity program is uniquely structured for those unable to study full-time due to their current ministry demands. There are six modular courses consisting of 4 credit hours of instruction with pre-class required readings and post-class guided research and paper writing. The faculty of this program has been meticulously chosen for their acknowledged contributions in their particular fields of expertise. In addition, the faculty is currently ministering in Asia or has experienced ministry in the Asian context. Thus, they can equip students for effective ministry in various Asian cultures.
